Festive Fun: Holiday Activities in Philadelphia
It’s the most wonderful time of the year and Philadelphia is ready to celebrate the holidays. There is so much to do in Philly between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve, it’s going to be hard to decide what to do first! With tons of events and activities all over the city we picked a few of the most famous attractions the city has to offer this year. From the classic Macy’s Christmas Light Show to the new ice rink at Dilworth Park, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this holiday season.
winterfest at penn’s landing
Winterfest at Penn’s Landing has something for everyone! Go ice skating on the olympic-size skating rink looking onto the Delaware River with a 360 degree deck around the rink. If skating isn’t your style, cozy up by the fire pits, grab some food from the cafe & food trucks, warm up in the lodge and check out the new warming huts! Beer, cocktails and spiked drinks are sure to keep you toasty this winter at Penn’s Landing.

comcast center holiday spectacular
Wait till you see the video wall at the Comcast Center! Open year round, the Comcast Center video wall is one of the largest highest resolution LED displays at 83.3 feet wide, 25.4 feet high and 2100 square feet. For the holidays check out the Holiday Spectacular show every hour, every day. The 15 minute show features caroling, ice skating and ballet. If you can’t make it for the holidays, make sure to stop by year round for captivating from Philadelphia and around the world. Fun for the whole family!

macy’s christmas light show & wanamaker organ concert
Located in the famous Wanamaker Building the show began back in the 1950s! With almost 100,000 LED lights (34,500 on the tree alone!) enjoy holiday music while watching this classic light show. While in Macy’s head up to the third floor for the Dickens Christmas Village!

rothman ice rink at dilworth park
Located at Dilworth Park, one of the newest attractions in Philadelphia. West of City Hall, Dilworth Park features outdoor seating and cafe. During the warmer months enjoy the interactive fountain. Come winter, the fountain converts to the Rothamn Ice Rink. Enjoy ice skating, ice skating classes, and the Rothman Cabin serving up burgers, fries and warm beverages. Convenient parking at Love Park Garage.

Franklin Square is a great location for year round entertainment. The Festival and Light Show, Electrical Spectacle, takes place during the holiday season. In addition to mini golf and the Parx Liberty Carousel, the holiday festival includes beer & food from Ben’s Bites & Brews, a holiday market, the Lightning Bold Holiday Express and special events like Nutcracker Night and Santa Saturdays.
